The 2010 “Gala of the Stars” (an hour and half performance) showcased masterpieces of George Balanchine and Moses Pendleton; a much anticipated world premiere by Viktor Plotnikov; and for the first time ever in Orlando a duet from the infamous work 'Bella Figura' of the most wicked choreographers of our times Jiri Kyllian. Stars that will be making their Orlando debut this year include: - Vanessa Zahorian & Gennadi Nedvigin of San Francisco Ballet
- Steven Marshall & Rebecca Rasmussen of Momix Dance Company
- Shirley Esseboom & Medhi Walerski of Nederlands Dance Theatre
- Erica Pereira of New York City Ballet
The World Ballet Competition's (WBC) goal is to achieve and encourage excellence in the art of dance. We bring together competitors from around the world, from ages 10 to 22, and of all levels of experience from introductory to professional. The WBC is now on it's fourth year of existence, and is going strong due to its unbelievable support, participation and quality.
