In order to maintain the quality and prestige of the competition, each competitor is screened via video audition, prior to being accepted to compete in the World Ballet Competition. A select panel of judges will view the submitted material and will recruit all dancers who qualify to be in the competition. Judgment will be based on talent, technique, execution, musicality and artistry.

Application Deadline - Monday, January 31, 2011: The entry must be postmarked by January 31, 2011. No entries will be accepted after this date! The audition fees are non-refundable and viewing materials are non- returnable. Please note, the number of competitors accepted is limited, so apply early.

Audition Application Requirements: Applicants may submit an application via postal mail OR electronically by email.

Postal Mail Application

All mailed applications must include the following:

1. One Video (DVD/VHS) following the instructions below.

2. The audition fee of $50 (US Dollars) check or money orders only, made payable to World Ballet Competition (WBC).

3. The Audition Form (To print audition forms, please log on your user account).

4. One recent photo copy of the passport or birth certificate.

1. Link to YouTube video following the video requirements below.

2. Confirmation # of audition fee of $50 (US Dollars). Call WBC to pay by credit card over the phone. You will receive your confirmation # from WBC.

3. Electronic File Attachment of: The Audition Form (To print audition forms, please log on your user account).

4. Electronic File Attachment of: One recent photo copy of the passport or birth certificate.

Video (DVD/VHS) Requirements:

All dancers should be filmed in either a rehearsal or a performance. Applicants may use a costume or class attire (with no additional accessories). If sending a video from a performance, the video must only feature the applicant(s) of the World Ballet Competition.

Viewing material must be filmed within approximately 8 months prior to the competition date. Edited and/or altered viewing material will not be considered. Please provide most recent video available!!!

INDIVIDUAL DIVISION:

Introductory: 1 Ballet Solo (from the WBC Classical Ballet Repertoire List provided). Pointe is not mandatory for girls in this category. Teacher/coach must focus on dancer’s aptitudes and use judgment in regard to difficulty level for technique.

Preparatory, Pre - Professional & Professional Category: 2 Ballet Solos (From the WBC Classical Ballet Repertoire List provided). All female dancers in these categories must perform on pointe. (To view repertoire list, please log on your user account)

GROUP DIVISION:

Pas de Deux Category: 1 Pas de Deux (from the WBC Classical Ballet Repertoire List provided).

Ensemble Category: 1 Group Piece. Must be choreographed after 2004. (Time Limit: Maximum of 6 minutes).

Registration & Participation in the World Ballet Competition

In order to register, you must have submitted the Audition Application and have been notified of your acceptance via email by the World Ballet Competition. Accepted Competitors will receive all necessary information for registration by email.

Registration Fees:

Individual Division:

Introductory: $ 180/Competitor, $ 80/Each Additional Classical Solo;
Preparatory: $ 200/Competitor, $ 80/Each Additional Classical Solo;
Pre-Professional: $ 260/Competitor;
Professional: $ 360/Competitor;

Note: Pre-Professional and Professional Categories may enter in the Pas de Deux Category at a fee of $80 per dancer for each pas de deux entry. Does not apply to competitors only registered for the Pas de Deux Category 

Group Division:

Pas de Deux: $ 200/Each Dancer;
Ensemble: $ 220/Group of 3 Dancers + $30/Each Additional Dancer.

Registration Fees include: Registration, Theatre Stage Time, Warm Up Classes, Free Admission to All Competition Rounds, One Admission to “All Stars of Dance”, Souvenir Program, Diploma of Participation and Competitor’s Reception.

Registration will not be accepted if fees are not paid. FEES are final and non-refundable.
