  • Can solos used in the video audition be repeated in the rounds of the competition?
    Yes, solos used in the video audition can be repeated in any round of the competition.

  • Can I use a performance video for the video audition?
    Yes, but it must only feature the applicant(s) for the World Ballet Competition.

  • Do contemporary pieces have to be on pointe?
    No, the contemporaries do not have to be on pointe, but it is highly recommended.

  • Should I have two different contemporary solos?
    Introductory and Preparatory competitors need only one contemporary solo. Pre-Professional do not need to have two different contemporary pieces, but is highly recommended. Professional competitors must perform two different contemporary pieces.

  • Are the variations and coda included in the Pas de Deux?
    Yes, variations and the coda are included in the pas de deux.

  • Can a non-competing dancer be a partner for a Pas de Deux?
    No. Both individuals in the pas de deux must compete. The age difference of each partner must not exceed three years of the partner.

  • Is there a performing time limit on stage?
    Yes, classical and contemporary solos must be under 3:00 minutes, contemporary duets under 6:00 minutes, group pieces under 6:00 minutes (3 – 8 dancers) and 8:00 minutes (9 - 30 dancers), and each pas de deux under 10:00 minutes.
